Why we are doing what we can

A religious elementary school

It’s seldom that I will re-blog another’s post. But, this particular post requires as much attention as possible. The behavior described is merely a microcosm of what is happening in far too many US public (and, no doubt, some private) schools.

The time for re-sets and “fixes” has long past. Our education system is broken and has been for some time. It is time to rethink what type of educational system we want and need and then start over.

There are numerous private schools being started throughout the country. Many are faith-based since, without a deep and sincere knowledge of who and what we are – children of God – there can be no real learning. If you have such schools near you, please get to know them and, if possible, support them in any way you can.

In our little corner of Virginia, we have begun just such a project – a true labor of love – for God, our children and our Country. You may follow our work at: http://www.stmarysschoolva.com

That’s some terrifying stuff and a huge reason for the explosion in homeschooling—especially in areas where Christian schools aren’t an option. I thank God for School Choice in Wisconsin, government funding that helps pay for private school tuition. But such a good thing can’t last forever, and I know that our cracked government will find a way to end this option, once they recognize it as a path for families to bypass the Woke indoctrination of our children.

Yes, the school situation in Charlottesville, and many other places, is very terrifying. Our recent elections here in VA scuttled, at least for now, hopes that the State would grant school vouchers to parents to help them with private school tuition. Our school, St. Marys, will rely only on private donations and will not accept any government funding. It requires more work and sacrifice on everyone’s part, but we’ll be stronger for it. Please keep us in your prayers.
